The crisp February air set the perfect scene for a romantic winter wedding at Dewsall Court. Nestled in the stunning Herefordshire countryside, this venue is the epitome of rustic charm, with its historic house, warm wooden interiors, and breathtaking views of the rolling hills beyond. Despite the cold, the setting was magical—twinkling lights, roaring fires, and a cosy atmosphere that made for the most intimate celebration.
When we first started planning the florals for this wedding, the initial idea was to embrace deep greens and rich reds, a nod to the last days of autumn. However, with the date set in February, we decided to look forward to the promise of spring, incorporating vibrant fuchsia and purple tones to bring a fresh, uplifting feel to the day.
BRIDAL BOUQUET
The bride carried a stunning bouquet bursting with texture and colour. We combined delicate roses, deep pink ranunculus, and fresh hellebores with pops of lilac and fuchsia for a vibrant yet elegant look. Wisps of greenery softened the arrangement, creating a natural, organic feel.
BUTTONHOLES
For the groom and his party, we created delicate buttonholes featuring deep purple hellebore, small sprigs of rosemary, and soft blush roses. Wrapped in silk ribbon, these buttonholes added a refined yet wild touch to their classic suits.
BRIDESMAID BOUQUETS
The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, mirroring the colour palette while maintaining a slightly more understated feel. These bouquets were designed to complement their deep green dresses perfectly, making the colours pop beautifully against the winter backdrop.
CEREMONY FLOOR MEADOW ARCH
For the ceremony, we designed a breathtaking floor meadow arch, brimming with seasonal blooms. Layers of fuchsia roses, purple anemones, and soft pastel accents cascaded along the floor, creating a whimsical, garden-like feel inside the rustic barn.
CEREMONY BEAM GREENERY
To enhance the warmth of the space, we draped fresh greenery along the wooden beams, weaving in delicate white and blush flowers for a soft, romantic touch. The addition of twinkling lights intertwined with the foliage added a magical glow to the ceremony setting.
WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the reception, we dressed the tables with loose, sprawling arrangements of rich florals and candlelight. Gold accents and natural wooden details paired beautifully with the deep hues, creating a cosy yet elegant dining experience. Each table was adorned with delicate bud vases filled with fresh blooms, allowing the florals to feel light and natural while making a striking impact.
