I was so excited to bring Rhianne & James’ wedding to life, Rhianne is super creative and had so many great ideas. They wanted a relaxed boho style including Pampas grasses and bohemian natural tones. I choose to use romantic roses in different hues to create the palette as well as carnations, stocks and Pampas grass for movement and texture among heaps of whimsical foliage. Perfect for their boho wedding flowers, full of colour!
As I walked into The Post Barn, I was struck by the size of the oak barn in Berkshire. I explored the spaces excited to adorn them with unique florals. As I stepped into the ceremony space I noticed the soft light coming through the generous crittall doors and windows perfect to showcase my fun and playful bohemian colour palette.
I started in the ceremony area on the floral wedding arch. I worked with an abundance of green foliage effortlessly weaving together the different textures and green hues which naturally stood out against the barns wooden canvas. Adding clusters of sand tones and blush florals the magnificent arch harmonised perfectly with the space. The arch looked incredible filled with quicksand roses, beautifully scented stocks, Pampas grass, and a little pink gypsophila. The arches looked bohemian and natural just as they wanted it.
I attached row ends along the aisle combining eucalyptus, roses, carnations, and Pampas creating a free-spirited luxury floral walkway.
THE BRIDAL BOUQUET
The bridal bouquet was a mixture of elements, I wanted to create something load and unapologetic for Rhianne. I echoed the natural tones of the ceremony spaces using similar flowers as well as Pampas, and ranunculus. It was a big bouquet, asymmetric and full of texture. A statement bouquet befitting of Rhianne’s faultless energy.
The grooms buttonhole I put together using a cluster of roses, delicate wisps of pampas offshoots before adding a hint of fun with tactile ‘bunny tail’ grass. I tied them together with woven sandy yarn to finish.
The team and I worked hard to move this massive arch outside for the couple’s reception drinks and photos!
Arches like this are extremely heavy and very delicate so I never recommend moving them very far. We moved this arch, just a few meters, outside the doors and it was still a military operation! However, the unique florals were just what the couple needed for their confetti shot, or should I say bubble shot as the couple was showered in thousands of bubbles from bubble guns masterfully captured by Dan Morris Photography. Details like this are what make my couples so fun to work with.
THE WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the reception we decided to use the cathedral like ceilings of the barn. I created clouds of delicate white and pink gypsophila floating above. I loved using this space filling it with fun and eye-catching florals perfect for Rhianne & James. We made this spring wedding even more beautiful with a few simple touches! The combination of fresh pink and white flowers with delicate dried grasses in a cluster of bud vase adding a fresh and elegant look to reception tables.
