Sav and Gabe are the kind of couple I became a wedding florist to work with. The couple wanted their wedding flowers to be memorable, creative and unique. A colour palette of blush, orange and toffee neutrals was the perfect palette, both fresh and distinctly unique. I specialise in creating wild, natural designs without structured shapes or tight bundles of flowers. Sav and Gabe’s wedding is the perfect example of how you don’t need to pick all the brightest colours in the rainbow to make an impact with your wedding florals. A masterless in how the flowers natural shape and the colour palette’s tone and depth mean you see more with each glance.
As I arrived at the Charter House, London I was in awe of this hidden gem. Secretly nestled right in the heart of London as so many unique wedding venues are in this city. The Charter House, dating back to 1348, would make a stunning backdrop for Sav and Gabe’s contemporary blush and orange wedding flowers. CEREMONY
I made my way to the ceremony space, The Norfolk Cloister, a stunning 14th century monastery cloister. With chairs impeccably placed stretching down the centre of the space seeming to elongate the intimate dooming space even further, light pouring in from archways lining the space on the right illuminating the space with soft golden hues. I began my floral design by creating a pair of meadows placed at the gateway to the aisle. The box arrangements seemed like two beautiful organic meadows flowing out of the spaces stone floor, a treat for the eye dancing upward. I filled the floral meadows with huge pink and white roses, carnations, spray roses and a mix of eucalyptus, beech, and smaller stems such as wax flower, to add texture and wonder to the design.

Next, I moved to the foot of the aisle and began conjuring up even more floral magic. A magnificent broken arch. The flower arches made from beech branches which swept inward ready to embrace the couple mirroring the natural curve of the venue’s surroundings. I added clusters of blush and toffee roses and dahlias in contrasting shades and shapes, as well as adding interest and texture with wild teasel. The result was incredible, bringing the perfect soft English country romance to their wedding ceremony.

THE BRIDAL BOUQUET
To make this modern blush bridal bouquet I wanted to create and elegant and romantic neutral floral design. The stars of the bouquet had to be the giant blush and toffee- coloured bridal roses. I mixed these statement flowers with cream and white stocks, garden roses and carnations bringing the design together with fresh orange hued dahlias. The result was breath taking, a toffee neutral bridal bouquet with a twist on tradition.

WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the wedding breakfast I made my way to the second of Sav and Gabe’s equiseta wedding locations, Bourne and Hollingsworth in Clerkenwell. The cocktail bar has the most delightful interiors mixing original features with light bright contemporary decors. The wedding breakfast was to be held in the venue’s greenhouse space. The light and bright space was filled with banquet tables, wicker backed chairs upholstered in bright and fresh botanical prints with plants cascading from the ceiling- just wow.

With the couple so astute at finding quirky hidden gems in the city, it was no wonder my florals and their vision were a match made in heaven. Along the length of the largest banquet table, I place slick white floral bowls overflowing with the same beautiful blooms as in Gabe’s bouquet, tying the two spaces together effortlessly. Finally, I mixed in bud vases and ikebana bowls, the contrasting floral arrangements drew more attention in their subtle differences. With the consistent florals creating a harmonies symphony all around pairing elegantly with the couples lavish tablecloths and soft gold cutlery.

Thank you so much to Sav and Gabe for letting me create their blush, orange, and toffee neutral wedding florals. The neutral shades where magnificent and allowed me to show off all my favourite types of floral designs.
