As Alanis once sang, rain on your wedding day is pretty ironic, and on the morning of this beautiful shoot, it poured. We all put a lot of time and money into our photoshoots and a gloomy day or a grey looking forecast can sometimes make us feel the same. As you can see from these gorgeous images though, we dodged the raindrops and in the few minutes reprieve that we got from the rain, our bride darted out and looked positively spectral.

For the flowers, we chose a colourful mix of purples, pinks, oranges and yellows. When shopping at the flower market, I found these beautiful frilly bi-coloured ranunculus which create a beautiful texture and interest within the bouquet. Coupled with some blousy peonies, some aptly named toffee roses and the hidden honeycomb petals of a chrysanthemum, we absolutely loved this bridal bouquet.
We created a loose, hand tied bouquet design, finished with two beautiful long satin ribbons in cream and mustard
We created a bespoke hair piece for our bride, taking smaller flowers from the bouquet and delicately wiring them to a hair comb so that our bride could wear it comfortably. These are very delicate pieces and as they’re out of water, usually made on the morning of the wedding – usually a very early start for us! In this design we used carnations, lisianthks, eucalyptus and ranunculus buds to give these gorgeous textures and variety in her hair. Hair combs are a a great alternative to flower crowns as they are less heavy and can be slightly more comfortable to wear.

The photos were taken by the super talented Sussie Mellstedt, a Swedish born photographer. We were delighted to hear that super stylish Swedish blog Sisters in Law wanted to feature our work. It’s always an honour to have our work featured and especially exciting to reach International waters!
Thanks to everyone who took part and amazing work on getting such fabulous images in such cliche British weather…
