Bright Pastel Wedding Flowers at Court Farm, Frome, Somerset

Alex and Ed wanted to celebrate their wedding at the beginning of those warm summer days with all the beautiful seasonal flowers that come with it. From their ceremony to the wedding reception, we aimed to highlight this with the best and brightest seasonal flowers, ensuring their theme was celebrated throughout the day. To achieve this, we used a carefully chosen colour palette featuring oranges, pinks, peaches, blues, and lilacs for a truly modern vibe. Driving to Court Farm was such a delight. Alex and Ed’s wedding fell on the second Saturday of May when the sun truly came out to shine. The drive to Frome is across undulating hills, offering some very high vantage points to look across the amazing Somerset landscapes bathed in bright sunlight. As I entered Court Farm, a lovingly restored farmhouse with impeccable gardens, it was the perfect countryside setting that combined natural rustic charms with contemporary boutique luxurious wedding updates. An escape from the city, a perfect blank canvas for us to fill with abundant pops of floral personality.

BRIDAL BOUQUET

For Alex’s bridal bouquet, I created a natural, relaxed design, hand-tied with a matching satin ribbon. Using slightly muted, colourful flowers, I crafted a loose, structural design that was artistic and unique. The result was stunning: Alex, wearing a gorgeous satin cross-necked white gown, oozed sophistication. The chic dress paired with amazing mule heels, sunglasses, and her statement bright pastel bouquet proved you can bring all the fun and editorial energy of a city wedding into a countryside setting.

BRIDESMAIDS

Bridesmaids held single-flower bouquets featuring a singular flower type from the bridal bouquet. These bundles of the same gorgeous, seasonal flowers created a really modern, colourful energy, bringing Alex and Ed’s fun and flair to the day once more!

BUTTONHOLES

For Ed and his groomsmen, I picked out small clusters of spray roses in the same electric colours as the bridal party flowers. The perfect way to tie the groom’s party into the attention-grabbing floral scheme, the flashes of pink looked amazing against the groom’s light suit, adding again to the early summer feeling of the day.

WEDDING BREAKFAST

For the wedding breakfast, we created my favourite kinds of tablescape using a mixture of floral bowls, bud vases, and Ikebana-style flowers to create a truly sumptuous tablescape. The mixture of larger, heavily flowered bowls with wispy delicate bud vases makes for a huge impact. Investing in just a few larger pieces for the tables really draws people’s eyes and ensures they are focused on the flowers, preventing them from getting lost amid all the glassware, wine, and food.
