The day started with a scenic drive through the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, and as we arrived at Elmore Court, the historical charm of the house, combined with the modern touches of the Gillyflower, created the perfect backdrop for Helen and Thom’s big day. Elmore Court’s timeless elegance offered the perfect canvas for the couple’s vibrant floral arrangements, and I couldn’t wait to start setting everything up.

BRIDAL BOUQUET
For Helen’s bridal bouquet, we were inspired by the beautiful, delicate wildflower illustrations featured on the couple’s wedding stationery. Taking inspiration from the soft colour palette, we carefully selected flowers that would reflect the theme, but we also made sure to include some larger-headed stems to ensure the bouquet had impact. The fusion came together beautifully, with the delicate pastel tones of campanula and stocks providing a soft, romantic feel. We also included British-grown stems, such as small-headed sunflowers, to add texture and interest. The result was a statement bouquet that not only complemented Helen’s wedding day vision but also tied in perfectly with the natural beauty of Elmore Court’s surroundings.

FLOWER CROWN
Helen wanted a flower crown to bring some colour and natural softness to her white wedding dress. The crown was a perfect reflection of her bright personality, adding a whimsical yet elegant touch to her bridal look. Made from soft, bright-toned flowers, the crown gave Helen a radiant, ethereal appearance. As you can see from the photos, her beaming smile shows just how much she loved this playful addition to her ensemble. The flower crown not only highlighted her effervescent personality but also added a pop of colour.

BUTTONHOLES
To continue the wildflower theme, Thom and his groomsmen wore mismatched buttonholes, featuring stems drawn from the bridal bouquets to create a cohesive look across the wedding party. Each buttonhole was unique, but the common threads of texture and colour tied them all together beautifully. Thom, of course, stood out with a sunflower at the heart of his buttonhole, creating a striking contrast and making him stand out as the groom. This thoughtful design made sure that Thom and Helen’s flowers were perfectly in sync, symbolising their unity on this special day.

BRIDESMAIDS’ BOUQUETS
Both of Helen’s bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bright, textural bouquet. The vivid colours of the flowers, paired with the rich tones of their dark green silk bridesmaids’ dresses, created a stunning contrast. The bouquets brought a cheerful vibrancy to the overall look, while also providing a touch of elegance.
CEREMONY
For Helen and Thom’s ceremony, we created two floral meadows that flanked either side of the couple as they exchanged their vows. These meadow-style arrangements provided a natural, garden-like atmosphere, enhancing the intimate feel of the ceremony. The delicate mix of flowers and textures framed the couple perfectly, and as they walked back up the aisle as newlyweds, the vibrant colours of the flowers created a picture-perfect moment. The floral meadows were not only a stunning addition to the ceremony space but also helped to draw the eye to the couple as they made their lifelong commitment.

WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the wedding breakfast, we decorated the tables with a selection of bud vases, each filled with individual stems that complemented the floral menus. The playful pops of colour added by the flowers brought the tables to life, creating a cheerful yet elegant ambiance. We also repurposed the floral meadows from the ceremony, placing them under the table plans and next to the cake — or should I say rainbow ombré macaron tower, which looked as delicious as it sounds! As the golden hour approached and the soft evening light poured through the Gillyflower’s windows, the vibrant flowers glowed magnificently, enhancing the beauty of the room.
