Colourful Wedding Flowers at The Mount Without, Bristol

Jemma and Daniel were such a fun couple to work with, so full of ideas and energy, ready to make their wedding day as cool and fun as it was personal. With this much enthusiasm and creativity as Jemma and Daniel had, I knew it was going to be a good one. The couple’s photographer, Chloe Mary, is one of my favorite Bristol photographers and someone I have worked with before. Once she heard the couple’s vision, she recommended me and it was like a match made in heaven. Having other suppliers in this industry who understand your work and know which clients would love you is such a luxury. It means we can give our wedding couples the best day, knowing they are in good hands.

We arrived at The Mount Without on an altogether drizzly day. Parking on St Michael’s Hill is always an interesting experience with Bristol’s congested city centre parking and the gradient of that hill. We made it and made our way inside where the weather was forgotten. I love The Mount Without with its patterned walls, eclectic vintage furniture, and impressive ceilings and windows. It’s both striking and inviting, each way you turn, and surprisingly cosy and intimate despite its grand size. Fuelled by a Diet Coke from the amazing venue team, we started our floral transformation.

Bridal Bouquet

For Jemma’s bridal bouquet, flowers where a really important part of their day, bringing the couple’s personality in through using colour and a modern style. To create the perfect vibe, I made a bouquet that was ‘minimalist-maximalist,’ featuring flower-heavy, structural designs with lots of space and carefully placed stems.

Groom

For Daniel and his groomsmen’s buttonholes, we created gorgeous pieces using small flowers from the bridal bouquet, with sprigs of greenery and berries or dried elements for added texture.

Venue Entrance

From the moment you entered the building for Jemma and Daniel’s wedding day, their vibrant, fun-filled personalities hit you straight away. Greeted by the couple’s luxuriously textured velvet welcome sign in a deep rich burnt orange with an overlay of a beautifully illustrated graphic sign, you couldn’t help but smile. We dotted colourful pops of floral bud vases in a loose, spacious cluster beneath the sign, like stepping stones of colour scattered along the floor, drawing you inside.

Ceremony

The couple’s backdrop for their ceremony was breath-taking, and I’m not just talking about the amazing tall ceilings and stained glass. The couple had a huge custom sign made in red and pink displaying the words, “This is our place, we make the rules” in a curly retro typeface. As if this centrepiece wasn’t enough, we added colourful, bold, and bright florals at the top and bottom corners. The vibrant, bright-hued spring flowers really drew your eyes to the spot, looking even more vibrant and exquisite against the copper frame. A perfect backdrop against which to say “I do.”

Wedding Breakfast

For the couple’s wedding breakfast, amazing banquet tables were set up, filled with bright orange tapered candles adorned with contrasting fuchsia bows. Nestled among them, I added undulating bud vases showcasing single stems of one colour, as well as bud vases with a mixture of flowers. I felt like this striking colour palette could take it.
