We were delighted when the amazing stylist and blogger, Nancy Straughan asked Iris & Co to create some beautiful event flowers for her first Grounded Creative Networking event which invited female, creative entrepreneurs to a super cool venue in North London where they were able to network, build relationships and chat about the ups and downs of entrepreneurial life.
At the original consultation, Nancy had asked us to create some bud vases for the tables but when we met up at the venue and saw the beautiful fireplaces, we knew we had to do something bigger, which is exactly what we did.

Using lots of wild jasmine and ruscus foliage, we build a shape around the mirror, bringing the foliage right up so it looked like an overgrown garden. We then bought in the gorgeous drooping amaranthus in red and ‘hot biscuit’ (favourite flower name) to bring the arrangement down over the mantlepiece. We then bought in the delicate shapes of the delphiniums which contrasted beautifully to the bronze tones of the chrysanthemums and peaches of the juliet roses. We had to make it all in just 1.5 hours which was a push but we made it in time, here’s a time lapse of it coming together, alongside Nancy who was styling the room.
Alongside the flowers was a beautiful cake by Blushing Cook which, despite us not having met before, matched so perfectly with the flowers! She had even managed to source Zinnias which I hadn’t been able to find! It looked absolutely stunning and tasted even better.
Overall, the flowers made a big impact at the event as they were the first thing people saw when they walked in the room. We got so much positive feedback I left the event glowing with happiness as well as lots of great new friends in the industry who I look forward to collaborating with.
