Roxana and Gary came to me looking for bright, colourful statement flowers for their wedding. The colour combination they dreamed of was Yellow and Blue inspired by Beauty and the Beast. A fitting theme for me to create unique fairy tale wedding flowers.
I arrived at Manor by the Lake, an exquisite exclusive-use venue in Cheltenham. The hidden gem revealed itself slowly, just moments before you never would have known you were about to enter a secluded private space that left the rest of the world behind. My vans tires crunched across the gravel drive as I headed towards the grand house set in seven stunning Cotswolds acres. I couldn’t wait to get inside and create some floral magic for Roxana and Gary’s wedding day. Keep reading for colourful Cotswolds wedding flower inspiration…
For Roxana, I designed a natural, relaxed hand-tied bridal Bouquet befitting of the bride’s magical day and wedding venue. Using beautiful stems of green to create the shape and add a wild feel whilst weaving in the best seasonal flowers. Bright and bold statement sunflowers, roses, and big fluffy blue hydrangeas made the perfect bouquet full of enchanted roses for our Beauty and the Beast-loving couple.
For Gary’s buttonhole, I pulled out the more delicate stems from Roxana’s bouquet pairing a pop of yellow with more delicate daisies and small blue flowers. The small version of her bridal blooms paired seamlessly together, a striking statement on Gary’s lapel showing a hint of the Prince Charming the groom was about to be to his Bride.
The couple luckily got their wish and the turbulent weather held out so that they could have their dream ceremony in The Manor by the Lake’s delightful, landscaped gardens. Saying their vows under an ornate Italian pergola. I created a beautiful frame for the couple to say their vows underneath, bringing the ceremony area into the rest of the decor. To do so I created a beautiful archway of floating wedding blooms. In the couple’s chosen palette, the base of greenery looked to be growing from the garden structure the amazing punches of yellow and blue illuminating the space and drawing your eyes to the most important moment of the day, the perfect way to celebrate the couple’s love story.
As we headed back into the venue, I created one of my favourite sign toppers of 2023. The sign beneath displays the words, “Be our Guests”. I made sure the sign would not be missed by anyone attending. Using Stocks, Sunflowers, Roses, and Thistles for a touch of blue. The topper was a divine kaleidoscope of vibrant blooms. The elegant floral sign topper, creates a lively and enchanting focal point for celebration leading the guests to the wedding breakfast.
For Roxana and Gary’s tables, I created stunning bowls filled with colour overflowing with beautiful blooms, carefully placed among the crockery and glassware of your tables. This created a cascading flow of undulating flowers a feast for the eyes of each guest. Accompanied by bud vases to add a little colour here and ther bring their theme together across the venue with a mix of heights and textures to keep them interesting.
Thank you so much to Roxana and Gary for letting me create their Beauty and the Beast-inspired wedding flowers, it was so wonderful to help their fairy tale wedding flower dreams come to life. The blend of rich yellows and deep blues encapsulated the essence of love and enchantment.
