*Just a note to say that I don’t offer flower preservation myself, this is a summary of different ways of preserving flowers and some local specialists I would recommend to help you. Please reach out to them directly if you’d like to enquire about bouquet preservation*
As a florist, one of the most common questions I get asked is: “What can I do with my wedding flowers after the big day?” It’s a lovely thought—wanting to keep hold of something so meaningful. Whether you want to preserve your bouquet as a keepsake or turn it into something completely unique, there are some beautiful ways to give your flowers a second life.
In this post, I’m sharing a few popular preservation options, plus some amazing local businesses who do just that.
1. Drying
Drying is a traditional method that involves hanging your bouquet upside down in a cool, dark place. This technique allows the flowers to retain their shape and can be displayed in vases or shadow boxes. While it’s a simple DIY approach, professional services can enhance the longevity and appearance of dried flowers.
2. Pressing
Pressing flowers involves flattening them between sheets of paper to remove moisture. This method is ideal for creating framed artwork or incorporating into stationery. Professional pressing ensures optimal colour retention and arrangement, resulting in a bespoke piece of art.
3. Resin Preservation
Encasing flowers in resin creates a three-dimensional, durable keepsake. This method preserves the natural beauty of the flowers and can be crafted into various shapes like paperweights, coasters, or jewellery. Professional resin artists can guide you in choosing the best design to showcase your bouquet.

- “I collect the wedding flowers and deliver the frame back and this is included within the price (within 40 miles of BA10), meaning the couple do not need to lift a finger or worry about getting their flowers packaged up and to the post office the day after the wedding.
- I’m big on communication and provide mock up artwork before fixing anything in place, so the couple has peace of mind that they know they’ll love the work
- Each frame is individually hand made by Wax Fine Art Framing to museum grade standard with real glass, so the couples know their flowers really will last a lifetime. And we carefully select different wood for the frame to compliment the flowers rather than always rely on the same wood frames. It just helps bring out different tones in the flowers.”
