Let’s talk wedding floral centrepieces! It’s the heartbeat of a wedding table, setting the tone for the entire reception. And when it comes to florals, the possibilities are endless. Dive with me into my favourite five: From whimsical bowls to elegant runners, delicate bud vases, towering arrangements, and the serene art of Ikebana. If you’re ready to be inspired read on!

BUD VASES
Bud vases are beautiful small vessels holding individual flower stems. When I make these delicate arrangements, I create small clusters of floral charm using three or four stems in the same floral palette as the rest of your wedding arrangements. Bud vases are a great idea as they create a sprinkling of floral detailing and add soft natural textures. Another great way to add interest to bud vases is finding unique receptacles to hold the flowers. Being an alternative wedding florist, I’ve created bud vases using human heart-shaped receptacles (see here), vintage French bottles and even quirky vessels with faces painted on making my beautiful blooms look like the receptacle’s brightly coloured hair.

IKEBANA
Ikebana, originating from Japan, is much more than just a floral arrangement; it’s an art form. To make these centrepieces, I carefully attach stems to a round base hidden in small shallow dishes. With just a few carefully chosen stems, an Ikebana arrangement can make a powerful statement perfect for a modern couple. I like to use these as most of my amazing couples chose bright and bold wedding flowers and these types of arrangements allow their wedding flowers to take centre stage and shine. I just used Ikebana’s in my own wedding florals so make sure you’re following me on Instagram to see all the photos!

FLORAL BOWLS
Floral bowls make amazing centre pieces think of it as a delightful bundle of blooms nestled snugly inside a chic bowl. These floral centrepieces make a great match for round tables, matching shapes are just so satisfying but they also bring a certain charm to banquet tables. Even better they add interest to your table but still ensure your guests can chat across them without peering through a jungle of flowers. Perfect for an elegant yet interactive dining setup.

CENTRAL RUNNER
If you want a wedding reception with floral impact, then a central floral runner is for you. Using a series of low centrepieces placed next to each other creates one seamless strip of floral delight along the length of your tables. This is a big-impact floral centrepiece idea. Perfect for banquet tables a central runner will mean every guest gets to dine whilst looking across at their loved one’s frames by elegant blooms illuminated in the dancing candlelight.

TALL FLORAL CENTREPEICES
Another high-impact statement piece is a tall floral wedding centrepiece. Use square-based metal stands in a colour of your choice. These round floral domes of foliage and vibrant blooms seem to float suspended above your guests. These florals catch your eye as you enter the scape and can be enjoyed from all angles as guests seated below them will feel like they are below a beautiful floral canopy.
