Online Wreath Making Workshop – Grab Yourself a Box of Christmas Cheer!

It’s CHRIIIIISTMAS (and therefore wreath making workshop time)!! Well, almost and nothing gets me quite as excited for Christmas is having a van full of pine and wiring dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks.  This year I’ll be running some workshops from my gorgeous studio in Paintworks, Bristol. So if you’re Somerset based, grab a ticket and come and enjoy some creative time out.

Whilst washing up, (where all my best ideas seem to come…) I thought about running some online wreath making workshops and in the last few weeks, I’ve been busily bringing that idea to life so that Christmas cheer-in-a-box can arrive at your door, just in time for the decs to go up.

So how does online wreath making work?

Head over to my online shop and grab yourself a workshop.  I’ve offered a few different dates for your box of goodies to be delivered, so you can coordinate when you’re getting your friends round or when you decide to put the tree up.  I’ll also be sending you a link to the how-to video when I post out your box so you can choose when to sit down and make your wreath.  I’ll be making the wreath from scratch in the video and sharing all my top tips for making it look gorgeous.  You can pause, rewind, come back to it later so it will all be at your own pace.

What will an online wreath making workshop be like?

Online workshops are great.  You can do things at your own pace, enjoy your own music and chatter, make it with friends, family, the kids or just for some peaceful creative time on your own.

If you have friends who are doing it with you from afar, just get together on Zoom, press play at the same time and you’re good to go!  I’ll be making everything along with you, from mossing the base to wiring the decorations.  If I get too far ahead, you can just pause and catch up.

What will my wreath look like?

Traditional wreaths are by far the most popular in all the workshops I’ve run so I’ve gone for those!  A mix of foliages including spruce, fir and berried ivy with gorgeous natural decorations including pine cones, cinnamon sticks, orange slices and seed pods – all of which will create that amazing christmassy smell that even the best scented candles can’t quite match.

How much does online wreath making cost?

The online wreath making workshops are £55, with free delivery.

What do I need to take part?

I’ll be supplying everything you need to put your wreath together from moss, greenery and decorations to the wire and string you’ll need to bind them.  The only thing I can’t send in the post is scissors so you’ll need a pair of those (secateurs are ideal but good kitchen scissors will do the job too).  I’ll be cutting the foliage from the central branch for you to avoid the hardest to chop parts (and to get it into the box!)

You’ll also need a laptop or iPad to watch the video and make along with me.  I also recommend a nice warm glass of mulled wine to get you in the festive mood but that’s not a requirement!  If you want to add your own decorations, greenery from your garden, fairy lights, please do!  I love seeing how people make the wreaths their own and bring them into your Christmas theme!

Are you running in-person workshops?

I am! I’m delighted that this year I will be running in-person workshops at my fresh new studio in Paintworks, Bristol. Come along to meet me (and possibly my miniature dachshund, Jasper who likes to ‘help’!) and build a beautiful wreath. I’ll start with a demo and then you can get going but I’ll be on hand all the way with helpful tips and ticks to ensure your wreath looks fabulous throughout the season. I’m based in Paintworks which has visitor parking and is accessible by public transport too. If you want to see what dates I’ve got available, you can find them here. I can’t wait to see you!

Can you run a workshop for me and my friends/colleagues?

I sure can! I need a minimum of 8 people to be able to come and run a workshop with you. If you’ve got a friend with a lovely big kitchen who’s happy to host, that’s great! If not, you’re all welcome to come and take over my Studio. Just send a quick email (hello@femmepetale.com) letting me know what date you’d like and we’ll go from there.

I also run corporate wreath making workshops too so if you’re looking for a festive team building activity, just drop me an email (hello@femmepetale.com) and we’ll get the ball rolling!
