I am fortunate to work with so many colour-loving couples, and Lara and James were no exception. Working with the wonderful team from Get Wed, I transformed Tythe Barn, Launton into a sunset-inspired floral paradise. Keep reading to see how we combined luscious British greenery, wispy British-grown stems, and bright, impactful roses to create a sunset haven for Lara and James’s wedding day.
BRIDAL BOUQUET
Lara looked radiant in a dropped-waist strapless gown with a dramatic split. This all-white striking silhouette was perfect for the cluster of bright flowers I created for her bridal bouquet. To achieve the look, I grouped flowers and used variations in height and width to create a modern, stylish, and colourful bouquet that had as much impact as the immaculate bride.
BUTTONHOLES
James’s buttonhole complemented his bride’s bouquet perfectly. A striking pink rose accompanied by smaller orange flowers created a bold statement against his dark suit.
CEREMONY
For Lara and James’s ceremony, we created an abundance of meadows—low, long floral arrangements that appeared to be growing from the ground, forming a beautiful half-circle around the end of the aisle. This created a floral cocoon for the couple to walk through and exchange vows. The show-stopping floral installation of the day was the floral arch. This extra-wide arch was laden with bountiful flowers in all shades of the sunset, with wispy birch and beech branches blending the barn’s wooden frame into a natural landscape. This flower-heavy arch truly showcased the couple’s vibrant personalities and created a wow moment as they said “I do!”
WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the couple’s wedding breakfast, we dressed the long banquet tables with colourful candles in our new tapered candle glass cylinder covers, which looked amazing reflecting the Ikebana floral arrangements running the lengths of both tables. We moved the stunning floral arch behind the couple at the top table and adorned the front of the sweetheart table with meadows.
