“ We had a bit of a weird brief… purple & green were our wedding colours but we also wanted birds of paradise. Gemma helped us shape what became the entire tropical theme of the wedding. It made perfect sense as we were getting married in an Orangery. Rather than a flower arch, we had a stunning palm cloud as the backdrop to our ceremony & every bouquet, button hole and centrepiece was more beautiful than I could have imagined.”Christine and Toby
BRIDAL BOUQUET
Christine and Toby knew they wanted Bird of Paradise and a purple and green theme for their tropical wedding. Therefore, I sourced the best tropical foliage and complementary flowers to enhance this bold tropical scheme. However, with such large and striking flowers, I had to ensure Christine’s small frame was not overwhelmed by the abundance of tropical leaves and shapes. Thus, I found a bright purple orchid. Orchids are so decadent and unique, and in that shade of purple, the bouquet truly was a showstopper.
BUTTONHOLES
For Toby and his groomsmen, the colorful buttonholes were equally unmissable. Using a mix of purple and orange orchids, purple lisianthus, and part of a Bird of Paradise for the groom’s buttonhole, we created something perfect to complement the couple’s unique color scheme.
FLORAL CLOUD INSTALLATION
For the couple’s ceremony installation, we aimed to go as big and bold as their tropical theme. Set in Tortworth Court’s stunning orangery, we created a floating cloud of tropical leaves. The mixture of giant palm leaves and smaller speckled leaves appeared to be floating, perfectly fitting the surroundings.
WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the round wedding breakfast tables, we created large vase arrangements in the center of each table, overflowing with grasses and Birds of Paradise. This perfect tropical collection created something interesting to look at from all angles.
