The drive to Cripps Barn on a beautiful sunny morning was picturesque, especially passing by there sister venue scenic Stone Barn. First, I headed to the house where the brides were staying. The atmosphere was lively, with a palpable sense of excitement and joy, almost like a party! From there, we made our way to Cripps Barn to begin the wedding day setup.
BRIDAL BOUQUETS
As a wedding supplier who prides themselves on inclusivity, it’s important for me, especially when working with same-sex couples, to ensure that each member of the wedding party has flowers that are perfectly tailored to their style and personality. For Amber and Charlee’s wedding, we decided to create two distinct bridal bouquets to reflect their individual tastes. One bouquet was larger, with more space and texture, giving it a soft, romantic, and “fluffy” appearance. The other was tighter and more flower-heavy, creating a sleek, modern, and colourful look. Both were unique but perfectly complementary.

FIREPLACE Flowers

Upon arriving at Cripps Barn, the delightful smell of open-fire cooking filled the air. The barn itself is blessed with a stunning stone fireplace at the head of the aisle, which is adorned with grand candelabras whose soft glow creates an inviting atmosphere. To make the fireplace a real focal point, we decorated it with an abundance of greenery, using different shapes and textures to create a lush and impactful design. Trailing ivy cascaded down, softening the backdrop, while the venue staff raised the candelabras and added candlelight. It was truly a “wow” moment.

FLORAL CHANDELIER
Cripps Barn, like many of the Cripps Co. venues, features beautiful hoop chandeliers in their ceremony spaces. I was thrilled that Amber and Charlee decided to dress the chandelier, as the transformation was nothing short of breathtaking. We used smilax to create a full, cascading hoop, and added an abundance of white flowers. This design softened the colour-heavy floral arrangements from the wedding party, working perfectly against the backdrop of the stone barn.

WEDDING BREAKFAST
For the wedding breakfast, we continued the floral theme by dressing the central light fixture and beams with the same foliage from the ceremony, creating a cohesive look that tied the whole day together. The tables were adorned with curated bright, colourful bud vases, mixed with Amber and Charlee’s personalised candles. Some vases featured mono-floral stems, while others had mixed flowers, creating a sensational display. We also repurposed the multi-coloured floral meadows from the ceremony, placing them in front of the top table, and the result was beautiful.

A huge thank you to Amber and Charlee for letting me bring so much floral magic to Cripps Barn. It was an absolute joy to work at one of the Cripps venues and to dress their iconic chandelier. If you’re planning a wedding in Cirencester and want alternative wedding flowers, get in touch today!
